Hi! I'm Lucy.
I married my husband in my late 30’s and together we started on the very long road to have our child. Six years into our journey our son arrived after spending many long hours sitting in the waiting room of an IVF clinic. My hours were spent contemplating all the different things a person wants to do with their life. I would always tell myself that if one day I was given the chance to change paths, I would do something to help women with their clothing knowledge and empower them to shop smart, and feel fabulous.
I never thought the opportunity would present itself through being “restructured” out of my career as my maternity leave was coming to an end. It’s funny how life has a way of putting us on the path we are meant to be on, even if we didn’t know we were supposed to be there.
After the initial panic of losing my job subsided, I thought about how much I had struggled with the thought of going back to work, and how emotional I was about leaving my son at daycare.
I thought a lot about how I felt when I started looking at my own clothes. How self-conscious I was at the thought I was going to look stale or that nothing was going to fit. I thought about how we women internalize so much, and I remembered all the things I would contemplate… and thus began the next chapter of my life. Mom Mode.
Our services will have you feeling confident and prepared.
Support & Encouragement
Since graduating from fashion design Lucy has spent 20 years working for brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Calvin Klein. She traveled to New York regularly while running multi-million dollar divisions and has worked with factories all over the world curating collections for the Canadian market developing expert in fits and fabrics.
Lucy’s passion for providing moms with support and encouragement in the final stages before heading back to work has led to the creation of Mom Mode. A service that helps women shop smart, feel confident, and look fabulous while simultaneously giving back to women in shelters to keep usable clothing from entering landfills.
What happens to the clothes that don't make the cut?
We’re passionate about helping less fortunate women get back on their feet.
That’s why we’re committed to working with local women shelters to provide clothing to women who don’t have access.
You’ll be helping to provide others with what they need to go on job interviews, in turn, providing a sustainable method of preventing discarded clothing from ending up in a landfill.
